OMD E1 MK1 vs OMD E5 MKII vs OMD E10 MKIII?

I would like to see if the Olympus camera system is right for me and I would like to buy one camera and a couple of lenses to use for 6 month - year before upgrading if necessary.

I am tempted to buy the original E1 because it has depreciated nicely and has all the features I am used to with my Nikon DSLRs.

The OMD E5 MKII is too old to buy new and the OMD E10 MKIII is not. The downside with the MKIII is that it has a watered down IBIS system and wont remotely fire flashes without an additional piece of equipment.

How is the autofocus, IBIS, JPEG quality, and general ease of use of the E1 compared with the others?

Um, I don't have much of an opinion on which Oly micro 4/3 body 5o guy (except the Mk TWO EM-10 has more options than its successor Mk III) but I would definitely ditch the E-1. Used lenses for FOUR-thirds are cheap but not too plentiful and, frankly, that system rivaled Nikon and Canon FF for size and weight.

I haven't seen the E1 in person but how can they be the same size as a Nikon Kit? I have seen the E5 MKII in person and its tiny compared to a D700 before you even get to the lenses.

The Olympus E1 was an Olympus 4/3" DSLR introduced 10+ years ago. I think that that may be the camera that PSCL1 is telling you to ditch.

Do you mean the Olympus E-M1?

Kelly, the OP has followed your suggestion and started a thread over on the m43 forum which is receiving a robust response.

The moderators should really shut this one down.
