Show your pic you consider to be the best ever...

Here's my first experiment if Macro.

Came out real nice.

I've since tried to simulate rain drops with manual waterring and never get anything nearly as nice as the well-formed drops on the leafs. Taken the morning after a moderate rain storm.

I've also since learned to use Apeture settings to eliminate the blurring in the background.

I must have a pretty steady hand because this was taken before I got a tripod.

Hi Jerry,

Welcome, welcome, welcome !
Indeed a wonderful picture.

But never, ever, ever do it again: Uploading a 3.6 Mpixel picture, embedded in your message :-))

In such a case you can put a ";" behind the URL, pointing to the original picture, for the people who want to have a look at the original, and embed a much smaller picture at a lower resolution in your message.

It will take people, without fast internet access, half an hour to upload your pic and it takes a lot of bandwidth on this site.

You can use the freeware program Irfanview from http://www.irfanview.com to shrink your picture easily.

When you use the "Preview" command first you can judge how the picture will be represented in your message.
Keep them coming your pictures !
Hans

Probably not my best, but certainly my favourite.

Hi Folks,

I can't emphasize enough...but I love these threads that shows what we can do with our Minoltas when we are out in the field doing what we like to do the most: TAKING PHOTOS!

Let me submit another favorite of mine with some explanations, as always:

Title: Final Touch

Whenever we go out of our urban world, deep into the countryside, and the more remote places we visit the more beauties we will be able to find. This pic was taken in a far away small village in the South-Western part of Hungary, and I gave it the title of "Final Touch", because I believe by the time the back yard construction made of all these natural materials were done, the folks living over there had nothing else in mind but to find a little decoration to put up on their barn...yes, what else but a pair of dried corn. How do you like the mood?

Thank you. ;-)

Well,... it happen, that I went to the countryside with family for a long weekend last autumn with the great expectations of shooting beautiful pics in nature having clear skies around all day. But when I woke up in the morning this is all I could see from my bed. Nevertheless, photographers (even amateurs like me) always like to take photos, don't they?

A Foggy Day

I've shown it in gallery shows and at Open Studios each year. If you're not familiar with open studios, it's basically an open house over a weekend when all the artists in a neighborhood open their studios to the public. Here in Boston there are about 10 of them throughout the fall, and I'm lucky enough to live in the biggest and best known artists' neighborhood. I get thousands of visitors over the two-day period. I also have the shot on postcards and my website.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

While I'd been doing this technique since my first IR sensitive camera (a toshiba pdr-m70...it's close to 4 yrs old and still cranking...gave it to my daughter when I bought my D7), this is one of the better ones I have gotten from my D7. It's two images taken one after the other...one in regular color and the other in color IR...then blended together in PSElements....
