Just picking a nit here...
the d500 doesn’t require XQD. If you need 10 FPS and 200 consecutive shots at 10 FPS then you’ll need an XQD card, but otherwise SD will work fine
The only reason to not use XQD is penny pinching. Compared to the price of the camera, the price of memory cards is peanuts. Or maybe you think since you have a stockpile of old cards from previous cameras you want to keep using them.
You will never regret having a card that allows you to get the full potential of the camera you carefully selected.
