A Sony RX100 IV trap I fell into

All of my other cameras allow me to put in a new SD card then start saving the photos to this card.
The Sony RX100 IV camera starts saving photos to a new SD card when I slot it into the camera but as soon as I want to view the photos on my camera I get the message that there is something wrong with the database (Can't remember the exact message) then if I select "Yes" to fix the problem it erases all the photos I have taken and I think it creates new folders as when I want to play back the photos I have taken I'm told that there are no photos to be played back.

I'm certain that I'm not the only one who has had this happen to them as most people new to this camera must have been caught out. In my case it has happened twice but I lost only two photos of value. It does a good job of deleting the photos as I can't seem to undelete them.

I tend to find if you move files off in a card reader you are likely to have issues if you don't format the card in the camera. Haven't had issues with new cards, but that is a rarer occurrence. I only find this with Sony BTW.
That's another good point. I copy images to the computer via a card reader. The card then goes back into the camera to delete the images. I never delete images from the card while in the computer. Some cameras just don't tolerate that very well.

You and I are probably considered by most people to have OCD.
It's not OCD. It's CDO - with the letters in alphabetical order the way they're supposed to be!!!
It's odd to me that the mental health community recognizes it as OCD, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. Compulsive disorder obsessive doesn't even make sense. Sounds like a case of dyslexia to me.

please drop the OCD/ CDO. And keep on topic because if I remove the first comment that’s triggers this it will totally dismantle the thread .

As the perpetrator, It's okay with me for you to delete all the comments. Of course, that includes the very first response to my initial OCD comment.
