Bought this lens second hand from Japan, using it for the first time. Focus is lightning fast and the pics came out quit sharp, happy with it.

Nice shots - this has become possibly my all-time favourite lens on my a99ii

Great pictures!

is this the F2.8 lens? If so is it the off-white HS or the black non-HS?

the apo 80-200 hs is one of my favorite lenses. Smaller than a 70-200 but built like a tank.

Great stuff. I have the HS version and love it on the a99, and really love it on the a99ii :) It's a bit of a boat anchor though.

mine is the off white version, bit heavy but nice. Couldn't bring myself to get the 70-200 which is 3 times the price so settle for this. yes it's a 2.8.

Had mine for a year or so, love it. I was recommended to crank down the focus speed for fear of stripping the drive gears, does anyone else concur with that advice?

I had a new old stock Vivitar push pull lens, it was very nice until my a700 stripped the gears. Contacted Vivitar and they said the older lens was not made to work with the newer camera demands. Just my experience. I hated to loose that lens.
