Getting to know my new pro-10 (also have pro-100)

I know pigment ink printers have to be cared for differently

I am trying to institute automatic nozzle checks for times I am away

Just looked at Jtoolmans youtube video for Pro-10 (Best Practices) and he suggests replacing catridges all at one time - requiring 2 sets - a full set ready to go and a set in the printer. For the Pro-100 I top off all the tanks when one gets low and dont worry so much about triggering a purge cycle

I plan to use PC signature inksets

I am not sure how to transition from the original Canon inks to PC color- can we mix the inksets?

There is an offering of empty cartriges on ebay, but I wonder about the reset chip- its not clear whether it will reset with a resetter.

Help on transitioning would be appreciated

Steve

Yes, you can mix the ink sets for the Pro-10. The Pro-100 is a little different but that's not a concern for you. If those carts on Ebay you're looking at are after market, I don't know if they can be reset or not. I think not, though. I picked up a set of empty OEM carts from Ebay a few weeks ago but I don't see OEM empties there very often.

I overlooked that you also have the Pro-100. The only concern with mixing those inks is with the yellow. Do not mix PC yellow with OEM yellow. If you buy the ink kit from PC, they will provide you with a flushed yellow cart.

I strongly suggest you go here to buy your carts, and if you have any questions?

Thanks for the plug but please realize I do not sell PRO-10 or 100 carts. Only PRO-1 for refilling and older T58s users can mod for refilling.

Unfortunately the link no longer goes anywhere- I found cartridges on Octojet in England- any experience there?

That's because he place a period as part of the link.

Octoinkjet sells unmodified empty CLI-42 carts. You will have to check whether the fact that they were allowed to reach empty, the sponge may not absorb ink optimally. So they may have to be flushed out before using. I am not sure they ha e PGI-72 carts, but they may.

Martin is a great guy and provides good products.
