Using EFX8 with X-E2 V4.00

The only external flash I have is the EFX8 that came with my X-T2. I wanted to check the hotshoe on my X-E2 but could not get the EFX8 to fire on the X-E2. The EFX8 fires every time on the X-T2.

Verified that Sound & Flash is set to On and X-E2 flash mode is Forced. Pop-up flash fires every time but nothing with the EFX8. Does anybody know if this flash is compatible with the X-E2 or is there another setting on the X-E2 for external flash that I need to check?

That little flash has an extra contact on the XT-series of cameras that supplies power to it. The other cameras do not have that extra contact on their hotshoe.

For completeness: actually, the X-T2 and X-T1 have the required extra contact but the X-T10 and X-T20 do not. Further, the X-Pro2 and X-E3 also have the contact, even though the X-Pro2 doesn't include the EF-X8 in the box (the other three models do). All other models launched thus far cannot use it.
