OK, onto storage

I keep looking at the laptop 2.5 HDD, 40GB for $115, add a slim expternal USB2 case to it for about $15.

I keep wondering how I could turn this into a storage solution besides the CF cards.

I am not talking about back up or digital wallet. I want to connect this HDD directly to the camera.

I keep wondering.

Anyway, could you recommend a good brand for the 2.5 HDD 40 GB ? Thanks

I don't think this camera can act as "master" to the disk.
Maybe a good idea for a future firmware update?

Bad idea, forget it.

Got to be a digitall wallet or image tank or X Drive or CD Burner ...

The 5GB PC card hard drive is going for about $160.

Has anyone used this in conjunction with a CF -> PC card adapter ? In the CF slot of the camera ?

Could someone please confirm that a PC Card Hard Drive 5GB capacity will work with a CompactFlash to PC Card host adapter stick out from the CF slot of the SD9 ?

Could the SD9 see the 5GB drive with this adapter ?

Don't forget FAT16 versus FAT32.
Has anyone tried a FAT32-formatted CF or drive in SD9?
I think FAT16 can only go to 2 GB (or is it 4?).
