We all know this forum is in life support... Interestingly, I went back a few years in this forum to view some old KM photos from the likes of KM 5D and 7D offerings. I found such wonderful photographs, that rival offerings from todays latest cameras. I thought it might be nostalgic for you to take a journey back a few years and view some of these great shots. Here is just one thread from member Schwany from 2015

Wonderful compositions, the colors are amazing... eye of the photographer makes it all come together.. This camera ( KM 5D ) is 12 years old..

Great thread with lovely images! Thanks for the flashback Bill. I love the Minolta colors, and Schwany's artistic eye.

There is no doubt of the color pallet that somehow magically could not be reproduced in any other system. Canon recognized it, and so did Nikon. Somehow that formula never left the Minolta DNA although when Konica took over Minolta, that magic did cross over. However when Sony took over KM it never made the journey. I know for a fact that Sony tried to bring on board those loyal Minolta Lab techs and glass artisans who did go with Konica Minolta . I think when the name Minolta was taken from the name, the Japanese culture of loyalty was lost. None of these artisans went over to Sony. What ever that magic was, it died when Minolta and Konica Minolta as a camera company died. IM happy I still have my Minolta film cameras and my KM 7D. While the brand of film in my Minolta cameras can skew the output. there is no doubt about the output of my KM 7D. There is something that is just rich and warm about the secret formula ( special sauce )..

I saw that in those shots from Schwany... taken ten years ago

I think more cameras are in use than we might imagine.

Despite the age of the cameras I'm always interesting in performing a sensor test for inclusion at PhotonsToPhotos.
Right now I only have data on the 5D.

If anyone is willing to collaborate on collecting the appropriate raw files on any camera I haven't measured send me an email or Private Message (PM).
