I am so tired of the Fuji Street Photography fan club so have started a new Facebook page for Olympus Street Photography. Feel free to join!

Cheers, Chris

I don't do Facebook. Sorry.

It seems that there is already an Olympus Street Photographers World Wide on Facebook.

There can never be too many Olympus World Street Photography groups. Although I could not find any. Also, I was looking to start something new (although nothing is).

Enjoy!

That's great. I'll check it out. I used to borrow a profession photographer friend's Leica rangefinder in the 80's and enjoyed doing that. People were a bit sensitive back then but, I suspect, less so than today. Do you intend to offer tips for sort of managing/avoiding the personal issues that can come up? Or maybe I'm just paranoid.

At the moment it would be nice just to share different photos and see what other people are getting out of the cameras. In the future tip and articles could be shared.

At the moment it needs more people (lots more!)

Come and join, I would love to see your photos.

Sounds great: I’ve applied to join.

Sold. I applied. Now, I just need to overcome my (slight) fear and get out there on the streets, I suppose!

Ha!

If it goes well maybe we could have the occasional group street outing if there are enough Group members within reach of a decent meetup town? There's no doubt having a few like-minded colleagues around makes it easier when you're starting out.

Big groups aren't great for getting top-class images if you're experienced in the street, but it's always pleasant to meet up and socialise, and people can always spend some time hunting more seriously before or after the joint session.

Me too!!

I have the camera and 12 - 40mm Pro Lens, I just need to get the courage to walk the streets in search of targets..

So i have applied to get the inspiration to try it out.

For you guys that are interested in street photography I suggest check out Robins blog spot . He is former OLYMPUS employee and for many years has been an Olympus ambassador . I made trip to KL in Malaysia in 2012 and spent three days with him ,it was a good experience. Here is link to his BLOG ..https://robinwong.blogspot.com

AllI did was to send Robin a message stating my intention to visit KL on a business trip and that I was very interested in spending some time with him and to maybe do some "shutter therapy " in the not so touristy areas of KL.This is what we did. Robin has an article on blog site about my visit to him and our(self And Maggie) "Robin Wong experience" .Article in April 10- 2012 blog pages. Also his e-mail address is in one of the comment replies.

There is also in the April blog pages a story of a visitor from New Zealand that did the same Robin Wong experience that I did .

Try it you will enjoy.

A couple of weeks ago a Scandinavian photographer on visit to KL did shutter therapy walk about with Robin ,so it still happens

Actually I do a lot of 'street' photography with my Olympus gear. I use OM-1 & OM-2 bodies, 16mm to 135mm lenses and Ilford HP-5 'sensors'.

Works really well but there's not a lot of us left :) .
