Great work!

Great minds must think alike !! :-D I was trying some DIF as well today, but didn't have much luck with the light. I was shooting at ISO 1600 and wide open with SS of 1/1250. I managed to get some in the frame but I learnt that I will need to shoot them in profile as the DOF is so shallow that only part of the dragonfly was in focus and with my luck it was usually the tail. I've put it down to part of the learning process and I'll try again tomorrow.

Thanks for the pics.

Yup... pure luck to get him aligned perfectly in focus plane! I have had some nice shots in the past but always slightly angled.

Great results indicating great effort and skill. Luck? You are too modest.

Great shots.

Those are very nice--especially the first one.

That is quite a few "lucky" shots! ;-) Very well done!

Lovely photos. You clearly have first rate skills in keeping those dragonflies in the frame and in focus.

I don't get photos of dragonflies or damselflies that often so I am especially grateful for pictures that others post. Thanks for such fine ones.

Very nice!

nice work, one of my favourite challenges.

I suspect you are lucky in the sense "the more I use my camera the luckier I get". it may be luck that you spotted it at that moment but everything else was down to technique, skill and practise :)
