Especially when it happens on equivalence threads :-D
I'm honestly curious - I skip the thread that does not interest me; why should any thread be locked if it's polite and civil regardless of the topic?

Equivalency threads, polite and civil. An oxymoron.
Are you saying you are neither polite nor civil (since you often respond on those threads)?Equivalency threads, polite and civil. An oxymoron.

All threads are created equal, but some are more equivalent than others!Especially when it happens on equivalence threads :-D

BTW: Equivalence is live and soul of this forum.
The real problem with this forum is that if anyone happens to praise whatever m4/3 product they have bought, some feel the need to explain why they are wrong and should not be praising the product. Examples of what m4/3 can't achieve (not taken by the proponents) are displayed with great flourish.BTW: Equivalence is live and soul of this forum.
The problem are the following groups:
Group A: Persons not able to skip a thread they are not interested in.
Group B: Persons not able to be civil, if somebody doesn't praise the gear they spent money on.

I often start reading a thread that I am interested in and that thread descends into nastiness, moving away from the original idea/post.BTW: Equivalence is live and soul of this forum.

I don’t need to have my gear praised at all, but nor do I want to be constantly informed of its failngs. I know it has compromises, I considered those when I bought it. I did so because the compromises of other systems were bigger negatives to me.Group B: Persons not able to be civil, if somebody doesn't praise the gear they spent money on.

ironically DPR have provided a simple solution for everyone wanting to not see these posts on equivalence, it's called the ignore buttonGroup CBTW: Equivalence is live and soul of this forum.

No, this is not a solution. The solution that DPR provided is called the PST forum and it is there where all E posts should go.ironically DPR have provided a simple solution for everyone wanting to not see these posts on equivalence, it's called the ignore buttonGroup CBTW: Equivalence is live and soul of this forum.

DPR has already said these discussion are ok for this forum, my point is is this, no one has to get involved in these threads or discussions if they don't want to and the ignore button can be very helpful in this regard, unless DPR's position changes then i'm afraid equivalence threads/discussions will pop up from time to time. No, this is not a solution.
