Ive found a literally new x-e1 with 18-55 selling for half the price of the lens alone, its never been opened.

how many focus pts did the x-e1 have?

That's a good deal. I have a XE-1 & think it's a great camera. I

XE-1 Review

Never mind, it went for $700, it was brand new and all, but the lens I can get for $500 and I really want the new sensor.

The Contrast Detect AF is what's holding back the XE-1, which is why the XE-2 is a better choice. I started on the 1, jumped to the T-10 when they started hitting the used market.

This is pretty much it. As an owner of the X-E1, it renders pictures a little differently. X-E2 would be the better choice ... But a good deal for both and whatever cost you said ... Sounds too good to pass up

Looking though the viewfinder, I could count 49; I am not sure though. paired it with 35mm 1.4 Fuji,

Decided to Try a compact one; checked Sony & Fuji, however, wasn't willing to invest much... then I managed to get an XE1 cheap. Just to understand how Fuji feels, bought a prime lens.. Trust me, it's a good camera. Fuji recently gave a software update; Isn't it nice to get firmware updates even though they stop producing it? That's what I love about Fuji.

Fuji, especially Xe series is something which you can carry everywhere "easily" and "without getting too much attention" click your photos.

Just few sample ones,

Get one & save some money for their beautiful small lenses.

Thats the same reason I bought 2 sony a6000s, I just love the shape and size. So looking to sell one a6000 and move to xe, I really want the newer sensor in the xe-3, but with the price of the 18-55, and the x-e3 it may be more x-e2 for me.

i should have bought the x-e1, kept the lens and sold the body as NEW. even the styrofoam film wrap it comes in hadnt been torn open. ugggh. never mind.

The main reason I want an x-e3 over say an a6000 is the 18-55 lens. Fuji has 3 options for that standard tele, 1 xc and 2 xfs. Sony doesnt have anything in the XF quality. the 16-70 fe is nowhere near it and the 18-105 is great but becomes unwieldy when the idea is to keep the weight down. So I stick with one prime and a kit lens.

Ill prob buy the xc 50-230 to get started as the feedback here is its an excellent value zoom. the sony 55-210 is ok, but meh.

Good call. I like my XE-1, but I only paid $175 for it. $700 is nuts even with a lens new or not.

thanks. i think a new parrallel imported lens is $550nzd. ($800 normal rrp). so the body would have been brand new for $130NZd which is about $80US. Yeah sounds great but id get frustrated after having the a6000. the xe2 though is almost tempting. but even the x-e3 i here the focus tracking isnt up to sony.

im in a bit of a flux, i want something that focuses like a sony but isnt the size of a d500 but has the lense range of nikon, fuji, m43 :-(. just one quality standard telephoto would do.

Somebody bought it as a collectors item and is probably not going to open it. You can get used ones in excellent condition for around $200 without a lens.

Hi,

No, I wouldn't. I just sold mine, it was gathering dust for 18 months already.

I could not stand the EVF in term of lag, sharpness and difficulty to see it in bright sunlight. I actually bought a 2nd hand Xpro1 18 months ago to replace my XE1 since the OVF is a much better experience.

The LCD is also sub par in my opinion so it isn't much better when it comes to shooting outdoor on a sunny day.

AF is definitely slow but usable as long as you don't plan to shoot action.

If you are on budget, an Xpro1 or C\XE2 is a much better offer depending on your priorities.
