Early morning after the first real winter night, mist is covering the water. Loved the almost black and white and the contrasted colours of the cane. Reflection of the trees and symmetry complete the shot. Who says the 6D mkii is not suitable for landscape photography in low light ;)

Canon 6D mkii, EF24-105 f3,5-5,6 STM, ISO 1000, F12, 1/250

Tranquility! Nice work. Sets a nice mood.

Taking excellent pictures on a 6D2 with non-L glass?

Witchcraft. Run from the forums before they try and burn you alive.

Must be going by the calendar because I don't see any ice on the water at all.

Haha! (I DO like the photo, OP - a LOT!)

Haha yeah, dutch winters aren’t what they used to be 😉
Don't know about Dutch winters. All I know is winter is not here yet where I live and the ponds and lakes are frozen. Once winter sets in the ice will get to 2-3 feet thick and we'll have days and weeks where 20 below will be the high temperature.(farenheit).

I like the image. As for "wrong f/stop and whatnot" - if the image is the way the photographer wants it nothing is wrong with how he set and shot it.

Regularly shoot foggy days at 1600 to 6400 ISO's to emphasize the gritty and foggy feeling. It is all about interpretation.

Good heavens...are you in Winnipeg? Your description sure does fit! We had our first real snow here a few weeks ago and it never melted. The rivers are frozen and I'm already tired of clearing the walkways of snow, AND IT'S ONLY 9 DECEMBER! As an aside, I just got here in June from New Orleans which had snow yesterday...kind of ironic. But, it's probably already gone. My granddaughter in Baton Rouge had a great day, I can tell you. It's her first real snowfall.

Back on topic, my sister in law is a photographer and knows the local snowy owl haunts. I may freeze my nunies, but that's my winter photography goal.

Located in North Dakota where we really only have two seasons.

Winter..., and Winter is Coming.

Even in warm weather we know to plan for when it gets cold. If you don't like Cold this is not the place to be.

Ice fishing. Hunting. Farming and ranching. Few people as Winter keeps the riff-raff out.

Building codes are 8 foot minimum depth for water pipes and at that if we have a severely cold winter with little snow cover pipes still freeze.

Beautiful light, good people and a great place to live.

Hell's bells! I was close. I bounced all over the country in my corporate days and spent 4 years in Chicago. The guys working for me said that they had 4 seasons there; June, July, August, and Winter! Certainly the shortest Fall season that I've ever experienced, until arriving in Winnipeg. Fall was about 4 hours long. :-)

Beautiful picture! Thanks for sharing.

Though to be fair, though, I have never heard anyone say the 6D mark ii is not perfectly suitable for landscape photography in low light - some complain that it is not as good as it could be in harsh, high contrast scenes.

Also, yes, can't see how you needed 1/250 for this shot? And F/8 may well have also done the trick. A lower ISO might have been beneficial, depending of course on what you intend to do with the picture. ISO 1000 looks great and is perfectly fine for most purposes.

Keep 'em coming!

All cameras work in the winter. Except maybe Sony. This was shot at Eos 5DC / Tamron 28-75

Rubbish. Are you suggesting even 5D and 6D have better weather sealing than A7r III or A9?

I have seen many photos from A7-series including the first generation in the Antarctica while we heard bunch of 5D II failed there.
