Fantastic photos Richard.

How do you find the 16-35GM? Is it very large and heavy or on par with the 24-70GM?

I am wondering now I have seen these if I should go for the 16-35GM over the 12-24F4?

Greg.

Now, you see, my first three shots would have been of my fridge, then my esky, then my local bottle-o. Then I would have started moaning about how blurry the images are.

But at least I would have considerable improvement to look forward to.

i have not tested the 2470GM but the 1656GM is much smaller and lighter. It feels great on the camera, well balanced. I would go for the GM because of F/2.8 for astro(sold my samyang 14mm F/2.8 when i bought the 1635GM) and that you can use normal filters on it. The 1224 has no filter thread The 1635GM is not big and also light. you will love it. there are comparisons on the web between the two.

cheers :)

Beautiful shots. When I get a Sony A7rIII the 16-35mm GM will likely be my first lens. It seems truly stunning.

Hi Richard,

Thanks for these beautiful photos.

How's the vignetting with a clear/uv filter on this lens when using 16mm-24mm focal length? I noticed that b+w uv/clear filters say that they produce no vegnetting >24mm. I want some protection to this lens but not sure what's the best way to protect without degrading IQ for such ultra-wide zoom range.

Not bad for a start... Just teasing, of course! :)

Excellent shots, as usual - Congratulations and thank you for sharing them with us.

Just out of curiosity - Why not using the SEL1224G, instead?

All the best,
Pedro
