Give your eyes a workout. :-)

The easiest way to check this is to take something with two holes and show part of the square through each. If you leave any of the other squares showing it will still fool you (I had to put my finger across between the two holes. Voila!

I make a small apeture with my fingers and they look the same individually.
But then they Change when you look at the whole picture.

Load it into Photoshop and check them. I didn't believe it either - until I opened it in PS and checked with the eyedropper. RGB = A: 107, 107, 107, B: 107, 107, 107. If you go to the website I gave, it explains how it works - and why it's a good thing. There is also a link to other examples - done very nicely with Flash.

This is really good proof of why judging color balance is such a pain. And it explains why I've never heard of anyone having the visual equivilent of perfect pitch. :-}
