So you are not from korea as stated in your profile; you are one of the few american who degrade USA image of open minded people.

Do you realy think that america invented photograpy? You should go back to some learning.
What are you doing in a british internet site?

I am sorry for other americans on this site but this kind of behavior is exactly the reason why there is antiamericanisme in the world.
I am French and I love USA but I don't love people as this poster.

JC
That helps to justify Brits magazine to be here in the US, as long
as the prices are in Pounds.

I'm curious as to why Barns and Noble carry the UK magazines in
US. Dont we have enough of our photographic magazines? What do
the Brits know about photography that America dosn't? After all,
we invented the camera in the first place.

And you know what, the UK magazines are a lot more expensive!!
What the heck?!??!!
I would like to remind all that there is a seperate dollar to GB
pounds conversion for photographic and electrical goods, it is 1
dollar = 1 pound.
That is why an Olympus P400 printer costs $399 in the US and £399
pounds, or more, in the UK. This applies to most equipment in the
US.

Why would anyone in America want to buy stuff from England oe Europe?

Flick,

Well said and thank you for reminding me that the US probably
export more stuff including the magazines than we import. I would
be irritated if I were in Europe or elsewhere besides US and have
prices stated in USD in US magazines but you should remember a
little bit of US culture that you may not be aware too much: That
the industrial world uses the USD as the standard and the Americans
don't know of other currencies, yet.
There is a wonderful resource you can use, that costs nothing and on which, with a little effort, you can find almost anything you want. I'm referring, of course, to the Internet. The first time i came up against the currency conversion problem, I simply put in a google search. I really don't think claiming ignorance is an excuse. If you want information, put a little effort in. Contrary to what you may think, the rest of us are not conversant with American currency unless we have cause to work with it directly. When we come across the dollar, we have to take measures to inform ourselves...if we want to solve the sort of problems you refer to. Or, of course, simply take the procuct to the till and ask what it costs in your own currency.
Sorry for the long reply. Just my opinion about what I have to
endure when I want to read a good magazine that happens to be from
Britian.
As we have to "endure" similar problems with American goods. I'm sure you didn't mean your first message to come across as bigoted and insensitive. I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you have dug a deeper and deeper hole for yourself and are now saying things you don't really mean in order to save face :-)

Where do you Brits get off darkening your toast only on one side? Anybody knows both sides are better - that what we do in the US. And furthermore, what's with with wierd size of your magazines? They're skinny and tall. Heaven only knows what other things are going on over there in the UK that are different from the US and, therefore, clearly wrong!

Uh uhh, its getting ugly. Please Monsieur Monfort, as your name suggests, your forefathers were french. They probably migrated over Canada? So lets see things as they are. Try to keep your balance.

LOL what do you mean only burn our toast one side. My toaster does both...

As for the tall skinny mags, that's to show off our incredible photographic skills with large page spreads ;-)

Whe you find out about the other thimgs we get up to, will you tell me? I'm due for a bit of excitement ;-)

I began this reply and lost the message when i backpaged, so don't be suprised if two turn up!

Don't worry, Daniel, he was using ironic humour.

Look here...

Us Brits weigh ourselves in Stones, We buy beer in pints, but petrol (thats 'gas' to you ;-)) in litres. Then we discuss how many miles to the gallon our cars do (different gallons BTW) oops, sorry I meant to say Automobiles err, hang on, I didn't....

Then we bet on an 8 furlong horse races and buy our land in acres.

I bought a litre of paint last week and climbed my 20foot ladder to reach the woodwork. Did I mention that we drive on the left....

I like to think we're cosmopolitan, sophisticated, cultured.

Or, maybe we can't decide if we're Americans or Europeans.

I would imagine that Critical Digital would need intensive psychotherapy if we visited the UK.

It's very obvious to me that you've posted here before and been banned under other names. Your post is nothing but troll bait and everyone here would be wise to not take you seriously. People in the UK (and elsewhere) know that Americans are not represented by lonely, screwed-up Internet trolls like you.

And if you want a simple answer: don't buy UK magazines. Vote with your pocketbook. Buy a magazine with prices in dollars. Or in your case, lots of pretty pictures since reading, learning, and expanding your horizons is beyond your capabilities.

I'm wondering if you're that same guy who claimed to own a Canon, a Fuji, and a Nikon dSLR all at the same time while putting them all down.

Anthony
I started to notice that there are a lot of UK photographic
magazines in print and the internet in the United States. I'm not
critical about the articles from UK but I am a bit critical about
its currency which I cannot relate in dollars. Anyone with the same
annoyance?

Most of the world does not hate the USA, so I gotta disagree with you on that. Most people are intelligent enough to remember how much America has contributed around the world.

Also, why would you assume that critical digital is himself an American? All you can guess is that he is what he appears to be: a troll. His profile says he's Korean, actually.

Anthony
Duh, of course Barns and Noble will not charge their magazine in
Euros in the Unitied States. But the stupid UK magazines price
equipment in Euros. Its the same as a Japanese magazine
advertising the 10D for 323,450 YEN in Britian and all the other
equipment in YEN.
What's wrong with British magazines quoting prices in Euro or
Pounds? Or Japan quoting in Yen? That's their national / market
currency. The term, "Ugly American" would seem to come into play
here.

Incidentially, I'm a native born US citizen and abhor such
ethnocentristic statemnts as yours. I will apologize for you now.

Wrong? How can you say the British are wrong?

Where did you Americans come from? Remember the Pilgrim Fathers? ;-)

Just remember - our history books are bigger than yours! ;-)

If you can't work out the US$ equivalent for UK£s or Euros, you ought not to be allowed out on the streets without a minder.
