#359|MONOCHROME THREAD|POST YOURS| *10Nov-12Nov2017*

First one to me: more "air" and better atmosphere feel. Like a forest place off a dream...

Cool documentary shot, Brian. Where is Acoma? I get the feel of a Mexican building, but...

Brrrrrr... For sure, a strong winter feel here. The sun star gives a "cool" touch to it...

What a wonderful place. Lovely images but I prefer the first image and treatment of the second. IMHO.

I like the composistion in the second picture. Nice lines.

Nice. Intreging.

What am I looking at?

Very classic. I had to look up Acoma, it sounded (if reading can sound) like a place to come back from with a full memory card.

Some from this afternoon. Glad I brought my camera. Both captured in colour and pp'ed in lightroom.

A bit of background:
What first cought my eye, but can't be seen on these pictures, is that his helmet has some kind of fresh air constuction with a hose coming into the helmet from his back. The helmet has a clear screen (face mask) for cutting and an additional dark visor for welding. It looked almost alien. Those pictures didn't work out as I had hoped. But I like these "sparks" pictures.

These shot definitely work best in B&W, and I like the processing.

The sparks work very well indeed.

This is already alien enough.

The chairs in the second are the keys to that image.

Thanks tt321 and Gobzy for your comments.

Hi Dreeke,

The second is an outstanding image.

It is complete because the rain or sparkles reaches the whole image from top where welding take place untill where the sparkles are falling on the ground.

A beautiful capture of workmanship, thank you.

BTW the square format does not work here, but outstanding you've took it into consideration to see what works best.

Hi Ruud,

Nice to see your work again. I like the still of the first composition, very sophisticated to place that statue just in one of the small window glasses. Also I like the last one with those two sneaky persons. the yellow monochrome is not so my personal taste, but the others Iove.

Lou
Hi,

A bit of color in this grey thread. ;-)
Cheers,
Ruud
