I love the second image. Great composition. It seems rather HD. How did you process this one?

I started with LR and followed the workflow in the LR tutorial in the attached link above, which I recommend. I finished it in PS. I don't sharpen in LR. I create a smart object and sharpen only the areas I want sharpened .

Excellent set of captures, nice sky color and great timing on catching the waves.

VERY nice pics! That 2nd shot is an excellent composition/capture. I live in North County, I need to get down there and shoot.....I'm always a bit wary of the traffic getting in/out of La Jolla, ugh getting old and lazy.

Is it crowded w/photographers at the end of the day?

Nice shooting / Bill

Not at all. We experience the best sunsets during fall and winter .
That's a fact! We get so little real 'weather' (storms, etc.) the time to shoot outdoor stuff is winter. The near constant sunshine of SoCal is hard to complain about, but I still miss living in the SF Bay area - more of a feel of change of seasons.

Now to ponder the drive South to La Jolla, hmmm......

agreed, i used to live about 2 hrs away from SA and used to visit frequently! you could catch fabulous sunsets in SF or northern coastal spots from time to time!

My daughter goes to college in La Jolla so I get to visit every once in a while. These are from our initial trip to tour the school after she applied.

Now a little land:

I was eating at a restaurant above the beach so I took photos as I descended to get a better view.

I also enjoyed #2 in particular. Loved the apricot colors and the strong reflection on the well situated rocks.
