I'm realitively new at this but don't some distributers get them before 'official' release date. I ordered one from a certian source and they told me "get it next week" Am I getting ripped-off?

Are we to conclude anything about a potential procurement of a 300D from your eagerness to volunteer this little tidbit of information? I have NEVER seen you discuss shipdates and retail sites, heh, heh.
I ask because I myself am getting inexorably sucked into the 300D vortex of gorgeous images from Phil's review (and Steve's Digicam) . Help!! I'm about to flip on my vow not to go SLR and betray my Sony roots!! (then again, didn't you say this was the Sony 300D??).

I Odered mine from Ritz back on 8/20. I added a remote to the order the other day and they shipped that.
While I was on with them, they told me:"We expect the shipment from the manufacturer during the thrid week of this month."
I hope your info is correct.
