This might be old news to some but today I learned something new about my old Epson 1400. I resurrected the 1400 after a period of dormancy and set it up on a Windows 10 machine. Got good nozzle checks and thought everything was good to go.
The printer would start printing normally and then at the 3/4 mark it would stop and spit out the paper. These were letter sized sheets. Smaller prints caused no problems, so I figured it was a spooling problem.
I tried to search the forum for answers with no luck so I used the built-in Windows troubleshooter to see if I could get a clue. Sure enough, It told me that since the printer is older hardware and I had it connected to USB 3, it might not be able to handle the faster data of USB 3. It suggested I connect it to a USB 2 port.
That solved the problem. Windows might be smarter than I thought .;-)
