"i've been called worse things by better people"
I think you captured a very good scene with lots of potential Chris. With different processing on the original I think this could be more appealing, at least for me. As already mentioned some shadow lifting for the foreground and fountain and the dark areas of the sky help and in scenes like this, Nik Color Efex Tonal Contrast can provide a different look that is sometimes helpful. Example below that I like better but you may not.

Nice morning kayak in Maine

I like the second of these much more than the first Peter. I have tried the 'look' of the first many times but never seem to get anything I like. Personal choices I guess. The second for me is more interesting with the darker look (something I seem to favour) and I think the scene itself is more intimate and the composition more appealing, for me anyway. The leaves are large enough to see their shapes. I like it a lot.

Nice candid(s).

Great job avoiding the "What the heck is that guy over there doing with that camera" look from anyone in the place. Not one person noticed you are there ! Which makes me wonder how long it took you before the waitress took your order?
They were busy but had coffee within 3-4 minutes, order taken in less than 10, and food was served 15-20 minutes after order (all estimates as I was having fun playing with the EM-10ii refurb I received last week.....

Waterloo Ice House is prepared for large crowds on the weekend for breakfast/brunch so not to bad at all.... only had a choice of a handful of tables though..... :)

A very nice image. Fine details and a lovely reflection. Plastic kayaks are practical but they just don't have the visual aesthetics of the older style of construction.

Looks like a perfect venue for a mob hit. Don't let Frankie 'Donuts' talk you into going for a ride out here.

Nice shot of Atlantlic City, so to speak.

I like it. Great color. I may have split the sky and the lake evenly if the foreground allowed.

A nice set Will. Love the last as the smiles say it all.

Andrew
Thank you. Yes that last one surely makes the case for "a picture is worth a thousand words".

This is may favourite image from a recent trip to Poland. It's the original -1EV image, that I wasn't happy with, blended with a Photomatix HDR image that I wasn't happy with. I think it turned out alright in the end.

That works very well. Arty but nice too ;-)

Looking at it on my phone it looks great. Can't wait to view it on my computer when I get home later. Thanks !

Wow, never seen that application of mega-sized pumpkins before. Very interesting and, no doubt, one heap of pumpkin pie to be had.

I like everything but the power lines.
