I have taken 167K shots with the D500. Main subjects have been motorsports, swimming, and water polo.
I have 95K shots with the D750.

I'm sorry that my shutter count seems to annoy you.
I take a lot of photos because I enjoy taking them and having a lifetime of picking and choosing the photos that I post process.

well you can delete the ones you dont want though... problem with the D500 is its so accurate that you dont get a lot of easy toss outs without really looking close at each one to decide what to keep
I have 3 TB of pics on a pair of 5TB drives. maybe some day when I get too old to shoot more I can go back through them all and find ones I didnt even see yet David Lal

That being said Lacrosse season starts again in 3 weeks and I imagine that shutter count will start climbing. I generally end up with about 1000 clicks a weekend for lacrosse. With the new (used)70-200 on the way and a bit of cabin fever from the long summer here in AZ I think it'll double in no time.

I think I posted too soon.
It has failed taking image number 298280.
I believe that part of the shutter mechanism has actually come away from the camera. If I lock the mirror up I can see a piece of what looks like flat metal about a cm wide lying across the face of the sensor.
I have sent it away today for evaluation. It is still under warranty so it will be interesting to see what response I get (I'm not expecting to get away without paying for the repair).
I'll post again when I know the way forward.
In the meantime I have ordered a new D500 body as I can't afford to be without one.

I mainly shoot birds but some flora, insects, wildlife. Go out about 3 days per week. An average day is about 600-700 frames. Of course, I only keep about 10%.
