10D prices dropping

Checking four different internet vendors today I noted that prices of the 10D here in Sweden have dropped up to 15% since last week. This can hardly be a promotion of the 300D. Could it be that Canon is making room for a new more advanced and expensive model around the corner?

If you look at:

Canon EOS-1D Announced 25-Sep-01
Canon EOS-1Ds Announced 24-Sep-02

and

Canon EOS-D60 Announced 02-Feb-00
Canon EOS-D60 Announced 22-Feb-02
Canon EOS-10D Announced 27-Feb-03
Canon EOS-300D Announced 20-Aug-03

It is very likely that Canon will announce a new pro camera (3D?) in the end of September. As 300D does not fit "the release scheme" of semi-pro models it may tell either that they have tightened release scales or that they have started a new August release for consumer SLR series and this means a new semi-pro model will be again announced in February (or they skip a year).

But I doubt 10D price drop is nothing else than businesses seeing more profit coming in from 300D and so they do not need as much room in 10D pricing.

You could well be right. Time will tell. A new pro model in September or the near future succeeding the 1D would be welcome, though.
