Sorry I'm bombarding this place with questions but I'm new so please forgive me :)

I have the lumix 14-42 and 45-150 lens for my G3 but I want something that will help get decent shots of moving subjects at night in town, Some pretty poor street lighting areas.

I'm working on a budget. like £100 and under.

I can't seem to get a f-stop lower than 4 on my lenses.

Thanks

The specific questions might be better suited for the Micro Four Thirds Forum.

The Panasonic 25mm f/1.7 goes on sale in the US for @ $147. That's about as good as it gets for value.

I doubt that you will see shutter speeds needed for motion in low light. I think the camera itself tends to default to a 1/30 second shutter speed if you don't force it to use faster. Even with the fast lens, it can be a real struggle to achieve focus lock if there is no contrast.

How about a 50mm f/1.4 legacy lens. Should cost about fifty bucks. Adapter about ten bucks.

an f/1.4 would cost a whole lot less.

You're certainly right about that. I just wanted to put the 1.2 there for consideration. Sometimes (me included) people change their minds and go for the extreme.

It seems that your 14-42 is f/3.5-5.6, so at 14, you can wide open at f/3.5 :-) .

£100 budget i might not be enough for a really very faster speed lens (adapted MF lens include). I suppose you might try the 14 f/2.5 (£100+), or you might try the used market.
