had a reveiw set for 2 weeks and nothing but trouble
1) card overheats and stops after 100 ++ shots
they were not even in continuous mode, just single shots
2)RAW mode is unusable with the 10D becos it takes forever to write
you wait and wait just for the preview.
Model is standing there wondering what the hell is going on.....
Just 2 shots and your model will be walking off
3)Even after buffer is cleared, all 9 frames is available, the redlight
still keep on and on and on.....
yes , the price is fantastic, the card looks and feel rigid
but not for pro digital shoots.

Are you suggesting that the new 2.2 Gb microdrives are inferior to the 1 GB drives?

The 1GB drives are made by IBM/Hitichi.
I've never heard of Magicstor.
Anyone else with any experience with the Magicstor and a Digital SLR?

It isn't a "Microdrive" but a competing brand of 1" harddrive. Yea it sound as though he regards it as inferior.

"Microdrive" is registered by IBM (HITACHI now), so no other companies can named their CF type II harddrive as "xxx Microdrive"

Does not work properly with my 300D.
Seems to be slow when taking photos, does not seem to turn off when camera turned off. Flattens battery when camera is switched off. Camera noticably warm when turned off and CF left inside.
I'm taking mine back and getting a real CF.
I just got a 2.2 GB Magicstor. When I turn off the EOS 300D the magicstor starts to power up and down every second or so, and won't stop.
Switching the EOS to "on" does not power on the camera. The only way to get back to normal is to remove the Magicstor (or remove the battery).
I'll be returning this disk ASAP.

That does NOT look like a good price peg meg to me.
over $81.00 per Gig.
I think a better way to go is a unit like the FlashTrax or similar
With my 80 GIG FlashTrax unit (76 GIG actual) the price comes down to $8.20 per GIG (Eight)
plus all the bonus benefits that go with the unit.

Yes, but does your 80 GIG FlashTrax unit fit in your CF slot in your camera?
Instead I ordered a 4GB Muvo2. Admittedly at a silly UK price, but still pretty good for the memory size. Better per GB than the 2.2 GB Magicstor.
