Great, great production values!
Thank you, Gerald.
Just like an advert for something. What do you do when the night is still young? Flirt with the stranger who's shooting you! :)
I think they were flirting, not with me but with the waiter (who took forever to bring my food) :-(

Beautiful light, atmosphere, composition. One gets a real feeling for this place. Love all the rectangles. Well done, Benedictus.
Thank you, Sam. Glad that you liked (and what you liked about) the image.

A grown woman putting her leg over the arm of the chair in a restaurant elevates this shot.
Well, I don't know about elevating the quality of the shot. It does elevate the leg, that is for certain ;-)
There's a story element there, it's both childish and provocative.
Interesting way to phrase it.
I also like the background scene, it adds interest and depth.

Nicely done.
Thank you, KF, and thank you for taking the time to explain what resonated with you about this shot.

Great shot.. fantastic light, a clear composition and fine post processing
Thank you!
Purely in the spirit of debate, personally I would have cropped from left and bottom, and perhaps tried some selective burning the lower left and centre windows to reduce the reflections.

...yes, with your crop one feels closer to the two women and less detached from the scene, but we do lose a bit of the atmosphere and--more importantly to me--we lose the floor tiles on the bottom right (I like what the colours and geometry of the tiles add to the image).

PS: I did reduce the reflection on the windows that you mentioned! Perhaps not enough. With time one should be able to do better.

Composed in three movements, one in same room with ladies, second open space in other room with a man and third room behind through the glass wall.
Nice description. Thank you.
All this in harmony gives silent feeling like life had stopped for your click, that nobody noticed. Great shot.

Does Leica have electric shutter?
No, but it is a reasonably inconspicuous shutter noise and camera.

Beautiful image Benedictus, very atmospheric and well composed. I like the timing of the two girls drinking at the same time, how the one is sitting and the way the other one is looking and thinking.
This was the most difficult part. The two women were always (one or both of them) looking at their phones. I was fortunate that they paused for a moment in a photographically interesting fashion (with enough time to dial in the final focus and recompose) .
An image with many details to find and enjoy.
Thank you, Kostas. Your feedback is always appreciated.

Just an observation from looking at 100%, but it looks like heavy noise reduction or something else (done in post?) that has smearing effect on the details. There are also a lot of white dots in shadow areas, around the bottom of the table. Is that standard for ISO 3200 on the M10? What post processing was done?
There is not much NR (20 in LR). The white dots that you mentioned are barely noticeable on the DNG. The PP, with emphasis on tonal contrast, does make them much more evident (it is the same with the typ 240). It is not difficult to eliminate them, and I am remiss for not having done so before posting the image.

I do not see the smearing of details that you mention. For my standards, the image is sharp enough (I usually never print anything bigger than 14 x 21). The smearing of detail that you see, and I am not for a moment questioning what you see, could very well be a slightly unsteady hand on my part.

Thank you so much for your comments.

fair enough

respect your opinion...don't agree in this case.. but we will not let that get in the way :-)

really just trying to move the forum more towards constructive discussion rather than combative diatribe or sycophancy :-)
Giving someone's photo a compliment is not "sycophancy".

This is a wonderful shot. The lady with her leg over the arm of the chair speaks an emotion of relaxation. In this image, you've captured three "stories" -- that of the two gals conversing, the fellow at he right, alone at the bar, and the "more hidden" happening behind glass at the upper left. Add to all of this, the wonderfully warm color and this is a shot to be proud of. Congratulations!

Thank you for the kind words, Bill, and also for such an eloquent description of the image. Much appreciated.

Wonderful shot! Almost has a painting-like quality and feel. Well done!

The play of warm and cold colors is excellent, the photo has nice perspective and 3D quality to it. Most of the figures are well spaced. Nice geometry. The leg over the chair makes a good focal point. The quality of the lens shines through here.

The main figures have a nice feeling of time suspended, but otherwise not much of interest.

The figures behind the lady on the left are a minor blemish, but this is the kind of photo, where there isn't much feeling or action, that is so settled and quiet, that one wishes it were not so.

The hat rack on the middle background figure is an excellent grace note.
