D1X on Ebay 90% Bogus

It is sad that there continues to be so many bogus D1X auctions on
ebay.
Now there's a D2h!

What's really great is that he only wants $50.00 more than he wants for the Canon 10D.

Now I wish I hadn't made a deposit on my D2H from my local retailer yesterday I don't think he'd understand if I cancelled it.

I created an account to ask when it would ship if I won and could I stop by and pick it up if I won?

A phone number means absolutley nothing. It could be a cell phone number or land line number. Doesn't matter. It's easily disconnected and the person could've used bogus information to register those numbers. Once he gets his money, if you try calling that number again all you'll get is "We're sorry, but that number you dialed is no longer in service." This scam has happend to me and has happened to friends.

D-1h - D100 - 45mm f2.8P - 60mm f2.8 - 17-35mm f.2.8 - Oly C5050z (new pocket pal)
Past Life: lost TWO Nikon SP's !@^@! - F's - Ftn's - Nikormat EL

When you look at the list of all items being sold, its a shame of the number of bidders that are about to get ripped off. Cannon D10s, D1s. Auction for most items just started and end Sep 1. Seems it was timed with the long weekend so that ebay wouldn't be able to react. Cute postive comments on Seller for all the items that sold for one cent. Isn't there a place to send ebay an email about these frauds?

I think of fraud as when you really try to deceive someone. Who would think someone is really selling new DSLR bodies for those prices? People who want these items already know about them.

I'm sure "If it sounds too good to be true..." exists in all languages.

Sure, the guy intends to steal from people, but this case is so absurd that any "buyer" would have to be a nominee for a Darwin award.

I just reported the D2H guy to ebay. I'll let you know when I get
an answer.

Good. I tired to but since I'm not a member, could not access the contact part. This fry_pc has six pages of high value items to expire 9/1 and probably was done to keep ebay off his back with the long weekend. Appears that all six pages (272 items?) were just listed almost at one time and his praise page was fabricated by himself in just past few days.

There is no shortage of highjacked accounts on eBay. Seems funny the poor soul that got his account highjacked sold all of his items from CA and all of a sudden they are in NY and will accept only cash or wire for payment.

I hate to thing of all the people who have lost their money. eBay knows but does little to stop. Its not going to stop in the future.

to contact them. No emergency phone number. Only a small area where you can post possible fraud alerts. They are no good a acting on them either.

There are thousands of highjacked accounts and they choose not to keep the needed people on the payroll to deal with it. Heck you can even call them on the phone.

Maybe more folks here need to put more of those megabuck bids on those items. Just key on the ones where others have put in low bids.
