Hello people,

Is EF-20 flash (+external diffuser) to 56mm lense enough for portrait? or like Fujifilm EF-42 make difference and indispensable?

Small budget for flash.

I would want a flash that will swivel as well bounce and the EF-20 does not swivel for portrait position.

I have both the Fuji EF-20 and the Meike Mk320. The Meike is much better, and it's also cheaper.

The Meike swivels, sits higher on the camera, it can do a wider range of flash compensation and it has an LCD.

Way more useful in my opinion. I highly recommend it.

I have both the Fuji EF-20 and the Meike Mk320. The Meike is much better, and it's also cheaper.

The Meike swivels, sits higher on the camera, it can do a wider range of flash compensation and it has an LCD.

Way more useful in my opinion. I highly recommend it.

I was't realize it's not swivel, it's important yes. Replaced with Meike MK-320 as Peter says. Thank you.
 
I have the EF-20 and besides being fixed forward, it's very slow to recover between shots.

Most likely made by a Chinese flash maker and labeled with different names. Just look at all the different named Chinese batteries, do you think there are that many battery makers in China, the answer is no. Years ago Ritz Camera sold Quantaray lenses and they were made by Sigma and were the same. There are plenty of flashes on ebay that look exactly the same but for the name.
