Mini challenge #465 - Reflections (no water reflections)

Well, seeing as this is a MINI challenge:

3b34f8748a514c3c83ec53c931667698.jpg

Not seeing any reflection? Well, if you totally magnify the eye of the Rufous Hummingbird:

6e2a56bdb7984311979fb049b4eccce1.jpg

Bottom left corner of its eye is the red and yellow feeder, just above that you can see the white door frame of our back door, above that the small awing above the door, bit more house and then sky/clouds.

My SMALL contribution...

Alwyn
Alwyn,

Now that is one incredible image. Please thank your petite friend for remaining suspended in air long enough for you to capture the image.

A huge thanks for showing it,

Thanks Mina, and wonderful reflection image. I don't recall ever seeing that, but I normally spend more of my French riviera time in the St. Paul de Venice area. Have you been there? Really beautiful.

Au revoir,

Den
Thank you! I haven't been there but just saw this video on Youtube of

" A Walk around in the St Paul De Vence Area"
It looks quaint and very beautiful.

Reflected in the mirror.

Mina,

Yes the town and surrounding area is quite beautiful, and this world class museum is only a few meters away.

And nice shot of the Hotel de Paris, where one can stay for a night for about the same cost as renting a nice cottage for a week down the road!

Best,

Den
I stayed on a cruise ship with wonderful accommodations and I'm sure saved a mint.

John Ambrose Davidson - 1890-1926.

Davidson drowned with two of his children when their dinghy capsized in Twofold Bay, Eden, NSW. Australia. His wife and another child survived. A killer whale named Old Tom, circled the spot for five days where is body was later discovered.

If you can't avoid a reflection, use it to add to the composition.

John,

At first glance the image portrays something sinister to me, and then after reading the story behind the image that impact is great increased.

I love it.

I think it is a moving story Den. He succumbed while trying to save the other two children. The story of the killer whales is fascinating too. Tom was one of many killer whales that helped to herd humpbacks and others into Twofold Bay for the whalers. The orcas were fed their favourite parts then went back out to sea. Tom did this for nearly 70 years. It was an interesting cooperation between man and the killer whales. Australia ceased whaling many decades ago and I'm pleased to say a leader in the anti-whaling movement today.

Here is one aspect I have not seen of the key word here:

Well, it isn't WATER exactly... And I am not sure if these qualify as reflections: maybe "refractions"?

We had lunch on a restaurant patio this afternoon and these caught my eye:
