Best 18-55 Nikon kit lens

I like this lens better than my past Nikon 18-55 kit lenses. Its focus is very fast and silent in comparison. It has made live view on my D3400 usable, whereas with earlier Nikon bodies and kit lenses I just gave up on LV. I think it's probably sharper with higher contrast as well, though I have no scientific way of testing. I'm just a bit mystified with the left extreme side being out of focus at times, even at smaller apertures like f/8-f/11. Still, I recommend this as a great starter lens for beginners, or good enough for more experienced photographers who don't need to pixel peep. For SnapBridge transfers to my phone and social media, or uploading to the smaller dimension files for online galleries it's performing just fine for me.
