You check for a used Manfrotto on eBay. A carbon fiber will generally cost more than $100 used but you can get a sturdy aluminum Manfrotto travel tripod for just under $100.

Look for something used. There's nothing new I would recommend with that budget, unless you want to replace it in a couple years when it fails you. I like the Mefoto Globetrotter for travelling.

I've been using the dolica proline for about 7 months and I've been satisfied with it. The legs seem strong until the last section which is a little spindly but pretty solid. The ball head drops about a centimeter after you tighten it but after that it doesn't move at all. Ive smacked it multiple times against door frames and rocks both on the ball head and the legs and it has just taken some paint off and it's been fine. I've been pretty satisfied with it and would probably buy it again, as I feel it performs well above its price. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004XC3GWU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_UgUlzb8BE2M4X

This is it with legs extended at various lengths while holding my d3300 and tamron 150-600.

I was in the same boat as you and I went for the Slik Sprint Pro ii.

Very happy with it.

i forgot to mention that i have already ball head, it's joby ball head that came with my focus gorillaPod

so i will need something without bullhead , could that help getting a better tripod around my budget?

The leg/head combo is only as strong as the weakest component. In this case that's going to be the ball head you have. The Joby is claiming a rating of 11 lb, but there's no standard for weight ratings. Also, the plate on the head is proprietary to the Joby head so it won't fit on any other head if you get something else.

anyone tried Rangers 57” tripod?

i saw it at amazon with no bad reviews at all!

the price is perfectly matches my budget but i don't know what is wrong with amazon reviews, it's Zero bad reviews .. even High end tripods always have some bad reviews , why this one has no single bad one?

I'll say it again; I avoid any tripod under $200 - especially an unknown brand name. My gear is too expensive to cheap out on something to hold it w/o falling over or failing. I won't comment further on cheap tripods. As I said, my advice is to look for a used, but known brand name. You don't find brands like "Rangers" used b/c they don't last long enough to sell again.

I don't know what you need it for, but on my vacations my beanbag always served me very well.

I have a sadle design, easy to drop over car windows (safari's), poles, fences, or lay it on a flat surface. I empty the bag before my flight, and fill it with rice/beans/buckwheat shells or whatever I can get my hands on at my destination. Gives great stability, even for long lenses.

i guess i'll save some extra cash and go for Manfrotto BeFree

but i afraid of something , it's already lower than $200 price tag, right?

no worries about low quality or something like that? because it still at lower price tag comparing to other Manfrotto expensive tripods!

i can rise my budget a little for him, but i afraid of that indeed.

I started shooting as a hobby over a half century ago. Almost all of those tripods were under $100. Never, ever, had a camera damaged due to the tripod.

To be sure the more expensive ones inspire more confidence, and are nicer to use.

This may not be the answer you're looking for if you must have the camera several feet off the ground at any time. For my "small and light" travel photography kit, I determined that a tripod was always going to be too much bulk and that my shooting needs would be met 90% of the time with an extremely compact Platypod type of device, especially if there is a guardrail, tree, or post nearby, so I decided to go in on the Kickstarter drive for the new Platypod Ultra for $49. I am especially looking forward to the ability for it to practically disappear into my bag. I did not spring for the accessory kit.

If you absolutely need a tripod, ignore this post.

But...how many tripods have you gone through? I'm on my 3rd tripod since getting into photography over 20 years ago. My first was a Bogen 3221 that I still have and is perfectly usable. However it's heavy and bulky, so definitely not a traveler. A few years ago I got a Feisol CF for travel, but didn't like the legs since they were not non-rotating so picked up a Mefoto Globetrotter CF.

For sure, and they'll last.
