Oh my, this is getting out of control. It used to be so simple. I had all my Sony gear all nicely packed up in one little bag and I was happy. Camera, batteries, converters, and flash in one bag. But now... there's the 10d and two lenses, a flash, rechargeable AA batteries, battery charger, CF readers, and the SD9... 3 lenses... tripods, bags... filters.... ARGH!

I was sitting in my office tonight looking around and I started to hyperventilate with all this camera cr@p spread throughout my office. I went out and told Dawn, "I can't believe it. I'm freaking out, everywhere I look there is camera gear. I don't even know where it all is anymore!". She replied, "I know! I can't believe you're letting it just sit around like this!".

Okay, so what did I do? Did I take a timeout tonight to clean it up? Nope, I just took pics of it. lol All pictures as they were, no arranging for the camera.

IR filter and two ND filters. They were on my 707 when I went to take my test shots from another post, so I quickly unscrewed them and set them on the desk...

And the battery charger...

Oh my, this one speaks for itself.... (RED ALERT RED ALERT!)

Filter from a lens that I returned but forgot I had the filter. And CF card that I don't use...

Some prints, a laptop battery, and some photo plaques...

More prints and a Canon 550 flash...

Sony Clie stuff (it has a camera, so this counts, haha)

Good Ol' Boy and card reader...

SD9 and 10D bag...

Oh my. I'm gonig to have a heart attack now. lol

hmmm.... recognized that label a little quickly, didn't you? lol

I buy what's on sale. Usually it's a Summit. Any port in a storm, I guess. Tonight I'm in the Port of Rum. lol

Hahaha. Too funny. Like a boy proud of the mess he made, and I mean that in a good way.

Mine keeps asking, "Hey David, when are you going to move your camera stuff, so I can ?"

Then (if I don't move or clean the camera mess) Method Two is invoked... "Hey, the cats are chewing on your , so you better move it or put it away." And sometimes this is even true, as I found cat spit on my polarizer I left out once. Kodak cleaner and lots of lens tissue to the rescue. That got put away in the pouch real quick after it dried.

We need a third or fourth bedroom so I can create a Camera Room. Maybe when your kids grow up and one or two move out, your cameras will get their own room too. But I've learned that it's the wives that get to deal out who or what gets those extra rooms.

Hi Jim

I only have two cameras but I know the feeling because at the moment I have two desks with two computers (my old one and new one- the old is supposed to go into the spare room but you know how it is...) and accessories plus two bookshelves onto which I have managed to spread all my stuff. Even though my lenses and filters are all in my camera backpacks, I am sitting here and I can see, memory stick readers, the camera/computer usb lead, my 717, it's case, the battery charger, mini tripods, a clamp tripod, my home made memory stick carrier, home made flash diffusers, the home made white/silver foam board bouncer, spare batteries and wads of photographic paper I bought cheap! On the big bookshelf I have three camera bags (mostly full of things), plus the original boxes for my Mavica & 717 and stacks of photographic magazines I picked up at the Photo Imaging show.

Add to that, all my cds, computer books, fully extended tripod , also a tripod stand of two 500W halogen lights I bought cheap to try out with the camera(though husband has already taken them outdoors and says they light up the entire backyard hehe), and this once very tidy room, is an absolute shambles!! I tidy it up and then it grows and spreads itself once again! To think, I'm going to buy the 828 to add to the mess. One consolation is that most of the gear I have now will be compatible with the 828 so least hopefully there will be only the camera to add to the collection.

Cheers Ko.

P.S. You made me really take a good look around the room. Busy tidying it up now to make me feel better. Any bets how long it will stay tidy?????

My aim is to live forever.....so far so good.

Went purchase crazy, didn't you?!

Reminds me of my wife's C2100UZ, just sitting around collecting dust while the family P3 and my F707 get to see the light of day! :-(

What's with all that noise? I never got such results from my F707 before! Were you on ISO 800 and using the Solarize picture effect? Or is this some kind of Color Nightshot?

What? ISO 1600 on a 10D is supposed to be equal to ISO 100 on a 7x7!!! :-) I try to tell people that although the ISO's are nice, it's more like an ISO 400 = 100, at best.

Some of them are noisier than others because the light really wasn't very good so they're underexposed in order to avoid camera shake and then brightened in post. I took all of 1 minute taking the photos. Noise wasn't a big concern as I didn't care. :-)

But thanks for noticing, Tig. haha :-)

Jim, get yourself a Lowepro Mini Trekker backpack case and you'll be all set.

Mine contains the following:

1 Fuji S2 with 27-200mm f2.8 lens attached
2. 28-70 f2.8 Sigma zoom (great lens)
3. 60mm Nikon macro lens
4. Sigma 21-35mm WA (only a so-so lens)
5. SB 80 flash
6. 3 pre-packed battery backs and 4 CR23 batteries
7. 1 Box Cokin filters
8. 1 CP (77mm)
9. 1 digital light meter (very useful)
10. 1 cable release

11. 1 Flashlight (cold light, works great for light painting w/o screwing up color)
12. Video connector cord
13. Lens cleaning cloth & liquid
14. Small grey/white card (useful when I remember to use it)

All this and there's still room for a light weight jacket, small tool kit, and a sandwich.

All my sony gear fits into a Lowepro Nova One bag.

Buy via Ebay and save $$.

Now if only I could pack the lights, backdrops, reflectors, umbrellas, light stands and drop stands into the back-pack --- need a Klein bottle back pack for that I guess!
