That's nice of you to say Erik, thanks. I keep coming back to it every so often because it interests me so maybe that's enough to make it successful, at least to me.In this case - and having seen more of your oeuvre, I'm inclined to think that your first 'gut reaction' is just fine. This is one of those shots that I'm not totally sure about so it seems fitting to post it here wondering if it's art. I only shot this one composition and I wish that I had worked it more and take a variety of shots with different compositions to see if there was a better image in there. But sometimes I've found that the first shot using your gut reaction is best so I'm not really sure if something else could've worked better or not.

Thanks John, I appreciate it.Like most things, if it looks right it probably is. I like it anyway.
These are both really cool and yours is particularly beautiful Erik.Viking 9 posted at the end of last week's thread, an interesting Architectural detail:

Taken on a visit to Rosslyn Chapel in Scotland (featured in the movie "The Da Vinci Code") with an Olympus C-2500L in June 2001.
Photography inside the chapel has since been banned.

This reminded me of the corbels I have "holding up" the beams in my "Great Room". This one, in the dining area, is my favorite:
