The original Meikon housing has limitation, so I start to think of modification! Here is what I do...mix GoPro dome port and Meikon housing together! So I can use Sony 16-35, Voigtländer10mm, Voigtländer12mm and Sony 50mm macro lens.

Can you give more details on the mod?

1) what components did you obtain to do it

2) what was the sequence of steps to remove the "stock" bayonet (if you did) and attach the dome?

3) How did you seal? o-ring?

4) pictures of mod underway?

I understand if the mod wasn't fully documented. Would love to see how you did it and more pictures!

Thanks

Interesting post, congrats. Lets see some actual photos !!

best regards

The front part the original housing was cut.

Done!

jjj - awesome! I wonder if Meikon would sell a replacement bayonet so that one might switch back and forth... Looks like I'll be spending some time in the garage! Thanks.

Good job, but do you trust of the silicon film? Without an o-ring? And with the 16-35 have you got some problem? I mean the nodal point of the lens.

Great work on your housing mod!

To use the 16-35 f4, are you required to remove the entire port and attach the lens to the e-mount after camera is already installed in the housing... finally re-installing the twist-mount, gasket sealed port back onto the housing?

Can you share some photos taken with the 16-35 (@16mm) inside the dome even if they are above water? Which dome is this? I see a few variants for sale on Amazon that would work, but the optical quality is questionable.
