I can only speak for the eye detect af of the X-T1, and that works really well. So it should at least as good on the newer X-T20.

Here is a thread on dpreview about this, when this feature has been released via firmware. The link to luminous landscape doesn't anymore, but the important quote is in the thread.

Your links don't prove anything.
neither does anything that you said there, lol
Only a troll like you won't accept it.
you didn't, so what does that make you?

see how you resort to name-calling? like a little child, lol
You have claimed, that Fujis R&D is weak,
yes, because of things like this:

fuji has at least *five* gfx lenses on the 2017 lens map: http://fujifilm-x.com/gfx/
Did you even relize, that the GFX is new in the market? Of course they have to bring lenses in a shorter time, to make the system complete.
congrats on proving my point.

fuji is spending what little r&d capability that they have on the gfx... x-mount is the "red-headed stepchild", fuji can't even come up with a simple manual focus x-mount for their cine lenses.

now... maybe you like to come up with an excuse for why it took fuji until last year to come out with their first 24mp camera? tell us again how good fuji r&d is?
How long did it take, until Sony had a competitive lens lineup for their A7 cameras?
uh, gee, is that why fuji owners called sony aps-c a "red-headed stepchild"?
x-mount is the "red-headed stepchild" of fuji ;-)
It doesn't get true, if you repeat it on and on.
see above...
maybe if you didn't troll sony all the time, and listened to what people said instead, you'd know the facts yourself.
You should learn to understand what is written.
the facts are clearly stated above, YOU need to learn to understand.
Some people also like the smell of fresh cow dung.
yes, that's why they buy fuji.
You sound like a little child that realized that it's wrong. So funny to see lol
you claimed that sony is cow dung, then called me names... congrats on proving my point, again!
No, I didn't claim that sony is cow dung.
lying about it won't change what you said.
Are you really that stupid that you don't understand what is written?
"Some people also like the smell of fresh cow dung." speaks for itself.
what part of fuji not having an 80/2.8 macro do you not understand?
The word "vaporware" means, that the product will never be released,
correct, fuji doesn't have an 80/2.8... you are in denial.
You are clearly a troll.
name-calling again, like a little child...
The 80mm macro was always planed for 2017, it hasn't been delayed.
it's vaporware, that doesn't exist.

sony already has three e-mount macro lenses on the market, but fuji owners claim that x-mount has a better lens lineup, LMAO
is this another english problem of yours?
I would be silent, if I wouldn't know what vaporware means!
you clearly don't know what it means, and you are trolling again, lol
Du bist echt das dümmste Arschloch was mir seit langem untergekommen ist. Wie kann man nur so unterbelichtet sein?
still name-calling, like a little child.

And if I thought it can't get any worse with osv, he proves that it was not the end of stupid comments. The whole world could tell you the sky is blue, and you would say "no, it's pink".
fuji is spending what little r&d capability that they have on the gfx... x-mount is the "red-headed stepchild", fuji can't even come up with a simple manual focus x-mount for their cine lenses.
So why did they just released the 50/2 lens, and come up with the 80mm in summer, if X-Mount is their red-headed stepchild? Why did they release 3 lenses in 2016, while the GFX was in development, when X-Mount is their red-headed stepchild? Why are 2 new lenses on their roadmap for 2018, when X-Mount is their red-headed stepchild?

The lens lineup for X-Mount is already pretty complete, so they don't have to come up with new lenses in the same speed as they did before. In fact, the 23/2, 35/ and 50/2 are lenses where they already got faster primes with the same FL for some time. It's a refinement of their lens lineup, what they do right now.

So you can't really claim that X-Mount is their red-headed stepchild, while Sony suddenly stopped the development for compact APS-C lenses, when the A7 series was announced. And since there are still huge gaps in Sonys APS-C lens-lineup they will probably never fill, the term "red-headed stepchild" fits on Sonys APS-C line really well.

now... maybe you like to come up with an excuse for why it took fuji until last year to come out with their first 24mp camera? tell us again how good fuji r&d is?
I just don't know why they came up with this later than others. Maybe it had to do with the manufacturer of the sensor (Sony), who wasn't able/willing to bring the X-Trans array on the 24mp sensors?

How long did it take, until Sony had a competitive lens lineup for their A7 cameras?
uh, gee, is that why fuji owners called sony aps-c a "red-headed stepchild"?
No, it's because they didn't released any new lenses for APS-C since the A7 series came out.

Oh yes of course. You are like the people from the "Flat Earth Society", who will never accept that the earth is actually not flat. Or as I stated above, you claim the sky is pink, while ignoring the obvious.

Some people also like the smell of fresh cow dung.
yes, that's why they buy fuji.

Do you know what an analogy is? You cleary don't understand what is meant with this sentence. And you still ignore it when I explained it to you. On top of that, you didn't quote my Explanation, just to prove your point here. And you really complain that I call you a Troll?

Again, I just call your Name - it's not name-calling ;-)

The 80mm macro was always planed for 2017, it hasn't been delayed.

Troll

Just to get the facts right: I said that Fuji has good lenses, what you wanted to deny because the 60mm macro has no limiter and is not 1:1. So you basically said that Fuji has no good lenses, because ONE lacks in some technical aspects, while still being great in IQ.

That's when I started to show you an example that there are also sony lenses that are not good, and according to your claim, the complete Sony lens lineup isn't good then.

Do you even realize how weird your argumentation is?

still name-calling, like a little child.
I just wanted to test, if you are able to understand if you want to. This example shows that you are. And it shows, that you just don't want to understand me correct, what proves that you are a troll.

Thanks for clarification!

Damn, you guys have spent over a week in this back-and-forth exchange. I guess you're having fun?

I don't really have fun to correct this troll over and over again. But I have a deep aversion to give these guys the feeling that they have "won" with their kind of "argumentation".

The main problem with this forum is the lack of an assigned moderator. On moderated forums this constant trolling by osv who have been halted already. It is terribly unfair to anyone that comes here asking for advice to have their threads hijacked repeadly.

Why don't you send a PM to Simon Joinson who is the administer of DPR and lodge a complaint directly with him? I recently did and if enough people do hopefully he will act.

The lens lineup for X-Mount is already pretty complete,
fuji doesn't even have a decent macro lens, it's NOT "pretty complete".

fuji doesn't have any ff lenses, they don't have near the lens selection that sony does.
So you can't really claim that X-Mount is their red-headed stepchild,
fuji can't even come up with a simple manual focus x-mount for their cine lenses, and they don't have a decent macro.

how hard could it have been, to put a lens mount on this fuji cine lens? there isn't even any electrical connection:

i can get "great iq" from any number of cheap legacy macro lenses... and most of 'em will do 1:1, unlike that fuji lens.

fuji doesn't have any ff lenses, they don't have near the lens selection that sony does.

it started out as a good opportunity to point out strengths and weaknesses of these systems.

but now that he's resorted to name-calling all the time, lol, there isn't any point in continuing.

Wow, I haven't been on this forum for almost a week, and yet you're still arguing over the same thing... do you not have anything better to do?

It actually does. Yes, it requires an extension tube for 1:1 macro, but native 1:1 ability isn't the definition of a macro lens. For years, a lot of the top-quality macro lenses were only 1:2 natively, and used extension tubes to get to 1:1. A lot of these are still very popular legacy glass to this day. This is not unusual.

...are you saying that you think Fuji haven't released the cine in x-mount yet is because they physically can't figure out how to make a manual x-mount mount? You realise you sound stupid saying this, right? This is not the reason they haven't released this product yet.
now... maybe you like to come up with an excuse for why it took fuji until last year to come out with their first 24mp camera? tell us again how good fuji r&d is?

"You guys"? One person said this originally. One. And then you repeated it ad nauseum throughout the rest of the thread. It's like your favourite phrase.
2)fuji has weak r&d.
No, it's because they didn't released any new lenses for APS-C since the A7 series came out.

Echo.

Very easy. This is not the reason they haven't done it yet. Obviously.

When it gets to the point where I can literally copy/paste replies, you need to look at what you're saying.

why would Fuji make FF lenses? They would be the (sing along with me now, you know the words) 'Red-headed Stepchildren of the Fuji Line!'
