RX100 M3 Overexposing?

I just did a double check on BH used ratings, and they are for "cosmetic condition only" on the 6-10 scale. That would make me hesitant to buy a used camera from BH on the 6-10 scale because it sounds like they don't even turn it on, just examine the outside condition and rate it and put it back in the box. I find that surprising, but they do a least say how the rating works.
You are mistaken. We don't buy used equipment that doesn't work and we check each item thoroughly before agreeing to purchase it.

The difference between a used camera rated 8 and one rated 9+ is cosmetic because both work as they should

I personally have had nothing but excellent experiences over many years with B&H purchases, new, used, returns, advice. Many here have said the same thing.
Thank you.
Recently, a thread here (deleted it seems) described receiving 3 rx100m3's, one used, two new replacements, that involved missing seals, 50i, not 60i versions of the cameras, the poorest impression of a company that could be made. Quite damaging to your reputation.
I have no idea what thread you refer to.
I see you responded here, I have to wonder why no response was made to that thread. Your reputation here is very important I believe.
I did not respond in that thread because i never saw that thread and if it has since been deleted (not our doing BTW since I've never asked for a thread to be deleted) there is no way I can reply there now.

B&H's reputation is "very important," everywhere. Here certainly, but everywhere.
Was the thread wrong, if so, say so, it true, how could this happen?
I have no way of knowing. If you see a thread that deserves but has not received my attention, feel free to email me. Others who frequent dpreview have been kind enough to do so from time to time.

My RX100 M3 started doing this recently as well. It's with every single image in auto mode. You can dial it back using the A, M or S modes to some extent but it is significantly washed out and overexposed in any of the auto modes which my wife uses. Didn't used to be that way.

I'm out of warranty and afraid I will have to pay a premium repair price for an already expensive camera. Anyone else find a recall for this or found a solution that doesn't involve getting a new camera.

my first rx100m3 overexposed everything, I returned it. waited, found an open box, it is fine.

your's was fine, now problematic. have you tried a full reset?

fix or find a new camera, that is a tough call.

good luck

Yeah, I have tried resetting it multiple times with no luck unfortunately. Repair cost is $305 dollars since it's out of warranty. Yikes.
