I bought an Olympus e-m10 mk II last year for my trip to Bali and haven't really used it since. I don't really get excited to go out and take photos with it. However I have been using my friends' D7200 a lot and I'm really enjoying it. So I wanna make the jump to DSLR and since I'm thinking of taking up vlogging and videomaking as well I settled on the 80D. However there is one thing holding me back:

As far as I've seen on pictures and reviews the 80D only has one control dial. I've actually noticed this is a thing on all canon cameras all the way up to the 5D. I did use both control dials on the e-m10 and I think I would really miss having two for quick adjustments. Do any 80D owners find there is one lacking? I don't know anyone who owns an 80D so I can't test it for myself and play around with it.

Could you guys just give me some examples of how you shoot and how you like to control your shooting settings on the 80D? That would greatly help me in making my decision.

There is a vertical sheel on the front of the camera, near the shutter release. You run this with the shutter release finger.

There is a round disk on the back that rotates, and that pushes in on the top, sides, and corners.

And pressing a botton turns on the back of the camera, where touching the screen activates various controls, some of which run by tapping, and some run by turning wheels.

It does not take a long time to change a setting, considering how many settings there are.

PLUS, there are some other buttons that make changing some settings even quicker -- ISO for instance.

It has two dials but changing settings during video recording, use the touch screen.

The 80D is a breeze to use. I think of it as a photographers camera. You will become accustom to the way it works because its very logical. The other thing is its customizable. If you prefer a different setup you can change it.

The 80D has two control dials:
  1. Main Dial, behind the shutter release button
  2. Quick Control Dial, on the right of the rear LCD.
Canon 80D Instruction Manual, diagrams on pages 26 and 27.

(I use an 80D and a D7100 among various cameras.)
