"Macro/Closeup Thread 15th April 2017"☺

New species for me (a few here look almost similar but...). Internet is great (most of times ;) )

Michel.
Very true Michel. Thanks for your comments.

Superb looking floral shots Jerry. Your walk was productive.

Growing old is inevitable; growing up, however, is optional.
And I have opted out.

That is what I'm doing wrong, I must try snagging in future. You certainly snagged some great shots Jerry. If they were mine I'd put them in frames and hang them up to brighten up the room(s).

Thanks Jerry, it was cropped but didn't want to push my luck any further! :-)

Well done David, nice to see these. I suppose this is what could be called "Getting down to'it!". That swivel screen certainly helps. ;-)

I snagged these on my morning stroll.

Hi Jerry, Up north we call these Amaryllis. But either way, very nice shots, all of them.

Happy Easter

Thank you Mark. You are probably correct on the ID. My flower knowledge is very inadequate. These were about 4 foot high, and I thought them too tall for Amaryllis, but as I said. I am flower challenged.

Beautiful Amaryllis, Jerry. I especially love the first one.
Thank you. And I am not very good at identifying flowers. Thanks for the correction.

Nice ones David. Looks like the FZ330 is doing a fine job for you.

Thank you Jerry; yes, I really enjoy the 330 and am continuing to learn what that little sensor can deliver. I am still undecided as to what to add to my camera bag. I look forward to seeing what the next version of the Sony RX10 offers and, more importantly, delivers.

Regards,
David

While I never look forward to the re-emergence of mosquito season, I sure do like to find any other interesting insects. Just happened to be in the right place at the right time, with my FZ200 w/500D attached, as this landed in front of me today. This was only about 1/2" long, but you can't miss the color!

Great luck and great capture on the tiger beetle.

Fantastic shot of a great looking beetle. I think it should have stripes rather than dots though, after all, it is a Tiger Beetle. Ha!

Beautiful beetle !

Michel.
