"Macro/Closeup Thread 15th April 2017"☺

Beautiful floral shots, but the one with the Bumble Bee is my favourite. The FZ200 and the 500d work very well together.

Good shots of a very fast mover Rodger. I get a few in our garden, but when they ever settle, they soon fly away when I try to take any photos. One day I might get lucky

A lovely collection - and yes I can almost smell the lilac.

Very nice set AAN.

I like the Forget me nots best and yes I can almost smell the Lilac. The combination of the FZ200 andCanon 500D work well together. Thank you for sharing.

Very nice set Eric,

Sorry I can't help with an ID at all. An interesting set of plants, certainly a little unusual.

Interesting detailed view. Not that easy since the shooting window is not that large :)

Michel.

New species for me (a few here look almost similar but...). Internet is great (most of times ;) )

Thanks Tom! Sadly this will likely be the last of my lilac bush....can't imagine why, it was planted about 25 years ago! 2/3 of it has died and it only has about a dozen blooms on what remains, so I think it is nearly done. May replace it with a dwarf variety, but won't have blooms for a couple of years.

Thanks Malcolm! The biggest challenge working in macro on flowers, is the spring breeze which sends the delicate blossoms to and fro. A real exercise in patience to get a clean, sharp focus.

These are from my trip in 2009 from Melbourne to the west coast and back - the state of Western Australia has SO many different wildflowers - any Identification that can be provided would be appreciated.

No idea what this is, but there were several different plants with similar "hairy" 3-petalled flowers.
I was just reviewing photos from our 2015 Australia trip Friday. An image of a flower like yours is fresh in my mind. Fringe lily (Thysanatos sp.) is how I IDed it after the trip.
