Taken at Elmley Marshes on the Isle of Sheppey, Kent. The pair of Harriers were nest-building quite near the road. The rules of the reserve say you must stay in your car which acts as a handy hide, but it's tricky wielding the camera to track flying birds, while sitting sideways.

this shot is beautiful, Mike!!! nice capture.

Thanks! Since posting this I've tried increasing the contrast on the bird which is an improvement. Might print it. :)

Hello Shutterbugs,

Here's a few snaps of a foraging Flicker and a fun gif action sequence of a Juvenile Bald Eagle. Unfortunately the gif process tends to blur the original images a little.

this is my favorite shot...fantastic! bokeh is very nice!

Here are a few shots of small birds from the back yard using a 5D4 with canon 200mm f2.0L prime with a canon 1.4XIII. Thought I would try this combo as it is lighter than the Canon 100-400mm V2. The prime and extender combo is much lighter but with out IS. Shots are hand held. I kept shutter speeds high and could get some sharp ones on these small birds at bout 7 to 10 yards. Tried to capture them when they were not at their "best".

All images taken with Canon T2i and Canon 100-400 L Mk I lens. Nice afternoon for the wife and I to walk around the public pier and take pictures.

Gull sitting on a post. Gulls were by far the most common birds out that day.

Juvenile gull.

One of those lucky events where he flew up and landed on a railing only about 8-10 feet away.

This guy was great. He sat on the top of a fire hydrant for several minutes. I managed to slowly walk up to without about 7 or 8 feet of him. Lots of pictures of this little guy.
