Below is an original and restored copy of a friend of mines baby picture. She asked me to see if I could fix it for her. Can you please critique what I have done and offer some suggestions. I really would like some suggestions on how I can get this picture any sharper, if at all.

You critque and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

 
Try this:

Unsharp Mask with a very small percentage (e.g., 20%) and fairly large radius (e.g., 2 pixels).

Repeat the filter quite a few times with Ctrl-F.

This gives me a chance to test a plugin that I've been looking at lately. It's called Focus Magic, and it appears to do a pretty good job. There are some artifacts, but it's definitely sharper. Maybe I should have been a little gentler to avoid some of the artifacts.
