It's official. I can now participate in the Fujifilm X system forum as a photographer who uses the product. UPS delivered my black X-T20 kit (18-55mm), last night. I've got the next few days to get to know the system, before starting a week long backpack in Grand Canyon. The next two weeks should be quite the adventure. Wish me well.

Congratulations! Mine arrived yesterday too! Pretty excited! Nikon shooter for 20+ years - My D300 and all it's lenses are going up for sale today. I really think Fuji is doing something right - (lots of smallish nice primes! and bodies with manual controls)

Have an excellent trip. Boy that comparison photo really brings it home how compact the XT20 is and conversely how large some DSLR setups are.

Its probably the primary reason most switched to mirrorless right there.

I already have XT2 but I must say I am tempted to check out the XT20 as I fin the smaller form appealing as mirrorless have also tended to sneak up in size and weight over the various generations.

Imagine seeing this when UPS delivers your new camera...

Scrunched box containing Fujifilm X-T20 kit

After studying the mangled package a bit, I decided to document the damage and open the box to check the condition of the contents.

Fortunately, the Fujifilm box shows not outward sighs of damage...not even a light crinkled corner. So, I unpacked the kit, fired it up and started checking functionality.

So far, so good.

I'm really looking forward to hiking with this camera. I'm sure there will be some growing pains - especially, considering I've only a couple of days to get comfortable with it - but my calves and quads are already sending me Thank You notes.

I also went from my D90 to X-T10 when it came out for the weight/size savings for travel. Used the X-T10 but though the autofocus sucked. Last year I took the D90 on trip where I was going to watch my first rocket launch since I didn't have a telephoto for the Fuji. I really forgot how well the D90 handles and was tempted to go back to Nikon but the the X-T20 came out. Haven't shot much with the X-T20 but I'll have to say the autofocus seems much improved and now I'm ready to fully commit.

Bring a lot of batteries and have a way to charge. These things go through them pretty quick. Enjoy the trip!

Wish you a nice trip!

Which lenses will you take with you? Just the 18-55 ?

Christoph
Thank you. Yes, the 18-55 is the one X-mount lens I have and I typically prefer to hike with one zoom offering wide to normal focal lengths.
