This is a Picture Control issue if you are using Nikon software or shooting JPEG. Shoot in Raw, start with Neutral Picture Controls, set Brightness to -1, and it should be fine. The green channel practically always blows out before the red channel, but after applying WB and Standard Picture Control you will often end up with oversaturated reds.I am asking because on the D300, I have to carefully watch the red channel in flower photos
