A surprisingly good portrait lens

Yes, the 30-110 is a very good lens, including portraits.

The 1st one is nice, but a bit small to judge image quality.

About the 2nd one, why did you use iso 1800, and a SS of 1/1000s? This gives a fair bit of noise. Maybe it was on purpose?

Nice picture of a nice girl.

I was actually taking pictures of the dog running in the water, so I set the shutter speed to 1/1000s , the camera selected the ISO , I looked over and saw her smiling so I took the shot.
Nice picture of a nice girl.

JanMatthys,

Very nice indeed!,I'm just about to give it a swirl to this short zoom lens;).. I really like the girl's portrait even though, as Andre' already mentioned about the high ISO setting, IMHO I do find the way Nikon handle the high ISO noise in the N1 system, much nicer and it does not bother me too much as may be other cams that I own do :)

Thanks for sharing

Nice shots, and a nice lens!

Been some time since I used ours, but I should use it more!
