Favourite Nikon Digital SLRCamera

My d700 was a very good camera. My d810 is a great camera.

In order of number of photos on Lightroom:

D300s then D810 and then D90

In order of confidence I can get the photo I want and pleasure in use:

D810 then D800 then D7100

Sadly the D300s gets no use now. I relied on it very heavily for years and was the huge step up from the D90. I had the D90 IR'd -- but I don't know what to do with all the older cameras. I even occasionally take one of the D40's out for a spin. Needs to be good light -- but heck, It works with all my f-mount lenses!

D700 was my first Nikon DSLR after a string of Pentax APS C DSLR's since 2004. Great camera and was a real jump in performance and results over the Pentax cameras. I then have had the D800, then D800E and now the D810 which is by far the best FX camera I have ever used. The D500 is by far the best APS C camera I have ever used.

Wonderful photos! Can you share with us the lenses you used and if possible the aperture and shutter speed used?

thanks!
Thank You Jose!

D700 for me as well. It's not that it's even close to my D810 but the jump from two Pentax bodies to a D700 was an amazing advance in autofocus alone!

It's the photographer, not the gear that created those images. I think that vbuhay could knock our socks off using a pinhole camera. . .

I've had the D80, D90, and D3200. I've now moved on to the D610/D7100 pair...for being slightly older models they produce the best images I've shot in ten years of photography. The D610/D7100 are my favorites (it helps that their bodies are nearly identical, I use D610 for landscapes, portraits, and high ISO while my D7100 is for macro and fisheye shots with a Tokina 10-17).

The D90 was the SLR that really ignited my creativity, though. I took it everywhere in California, from Joshua Tree to Los Angeles to blinding snow in the San Bernardino mountains, and it never failed to produce amazing shots for me. I also had images published in several magazines with the D90 at high ISO...for its time, those files looked pretty damned good. Unfortunately it got stolen out of my locked car in 2011, but I will always remember how much fun the D90 gave me.

Hi Everyone

Thanks for the great responce.

Looked at a lot more of my old D700 photos what a great camera that is.

Added a few more into the album just enjoying going through my old D700 files.

Thanks for looking

Cheers

Rob

Started with d70, loved that cam. Got a d300 followed by a d700. Ltived then both.

Now have a d4s, and it is by far the best camera I have worked it. Just lives in sporthalls where it did close to a perfect job.

I own the D800 and D4s. I've owned the D70, D200 and D700. I do have a soft spot in my heart for the D700, but I'd have to say that the D800 is my favorite. You might ask which one I was least fond of. That'd have to be the D200. Not that it was a bad camera, it just had the unfortunate honor of being the camera that came before the D700. The image quality from the D700 was head and shoulders above the D200.

D70S, D1,D1H,D1X,D2h,D2HS,D2X,D2XS,D3S and D4

... and my winner is the D2HS, I just love the sound of the shutter at 8fps.

I like my D5. Before that I liked my D4.

If you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with.

D700, great sports camera- my 1st Nikon DSLR after D90.

Favorite as in nostalgia favorite and might buy another one favorite - D700

Favorite as in does what I want including fantastic AF - D4 ( recently update to D4s )

Favorite as in gotta love the output and might be the best all around camera ever made :) - D810

1st digital was a D1 then D2HS, D3, D3S, D800, D4, D4S, D810, D7200, D500.

I've just bought a mint used D700 and hope to see what I missed in a camera that seems to generate more affection than any other Nikon digital. :)

Hi!

D800 for it sensor and D3s for sensor and handling - they was great cameras, but the D700 will always be special to me. The D700 was an eye-opener, as it was my first FF digital camera.
