I will need to study the various options but at least I feel equipped to do so with your advice and the advice from the other contributors to the forum
The reason I suggested those cameras and not a Micro Four Thirds camera was because of the ultra-wide-angle lenses. There is no lens in Micro Four Thirds, at least that I know of, that can match the Rokinon/Samyang 12mm f/2 on the APS-C cameras, at that price point. At least, that's where I think my head was when I wrote that four days ago!
I also figured that the telephoto lens, at least on the Fuji, would be closer to what you're familiar with as far as low-light capabilities are concerned. You'd need an f/2.8 on Micro Four Thirds to match that Fuji throughout most of its range, or f/4 to match the Sony. There's pretty much only one lens that does so while reaching 300mm equivalent: the Olympus 40-150mm f/2.8, which I have and love dearly, but it's considerably bigger and heavier. The slower lenses are smaller, though, as can be expected.
