Fusion of 4 shoots! This Quattro sensor surprises me... Merrill aren't able to make shoots like this :-D

"All of the erroneous aspects of analog or film photography are being magnified in this digital age. Images were always poorly composed and overstatements of a message. Now, we are pounding home the crappy message more easily by increasingly sharpening, saturating, contrasting, HDRing, and so on.
"The rule of thumb for each of those setting areas is: It should be done but not seen."

full size plus technical details, please...

. . . don't know if you're aware of this, but my SD1 does the milky way beautiful with the settings @ 800ISO, 30sec, f1.8. So I guess the Quattro should be able to handle too.

And I'm with Laurence with his request.

Good photo with the constellation of 'Orion' centered in the star field . . .:)

I've managed to this quick and dirty edition of the recent night shot on my little laptop. Have learnt a lot from this shoot and intend to return there next week with further intended work arounds.

SD1M, 18 - 35mm, 800ISO, 30sec, f1.8

SD1M, 18 - 35mm, 800ISO, 30sec, f1.8

Great Jim - Thanks a lot !

Curious - (not complaining) - what "causes the red blotches" and how can we (as photographers) interested in this type of scenes using our SD1M (Merrill), correct it, or try to do so?

Appreciate you going through the efforts to getting this photo posted for me, (and others of course). :-)

I will post my revised result in about a week's time, Ed, subject to weather conditions in this mountainous, alpine area. I also intend to use a torch during the 30sec exposure to paint diffused light onto the hut and trees.

Should be fun so stay tuned!
