Hey guys ...

Just a quick question that any PS guru should be able to help me with ..

I just want to run an action that does Auto Levels on about 400 golf photo's. I've created the macro/action but because I'm saving as JPG it always ask the compression ratio ... and I have to hit OKAY each time.

I don't want to this as I want it done unattended ... what can I do ?

Thanks
Wayne

One way would be to save your JPGs into a folder(s) and create and run a simple PS script that performs the action on every image in the folder.

I think this is due to you not checking the "override action save as" box in the automate dialog box.

if you click that it should operate by itself.

check out the tutorial on batch processing raw files, it explains a way to make "droplets" which are much more useful actions that can be run outside of photoshop, and are ideal for simple conversions.

Thanks guys ...but -

I've tried creating droplets that run my PS action ... but it still asks me the jpg compression ratio when saving.

Action just does an auto levels. No save instruction.

When I create the droplet I tick the option to save and close in original folder. JPG compression question pops up ...

Any other ideas ... ?

Thats what I did the first time ... then because that didn't work ... I tried leaving out the save command in the action and let the droplet do the save and close for me. Still no luck.

I suppose I could save them as TIFF which doesn't ask any questions ... but I want the pics in JPG.

Record the save and jpeg compression ratio in your original action.
