Part 2 starting.

Yes, that saturation and contrast is punched up in the in-camera pano. But I thought it looked rather good actually. :P
Thanks Geoff.

I think this has to do with monitor settings of the viewer. On the monitor I edited the other pano, this looks really OTT. On a very neutral and somewhat darkened office PC a colleague of mine prefers the in-camera one.

Resolution restrictions of the in-camera option means not suitable for printing, perhaps.

Nice demo of how little time it takes for glorious sky colours to disappear.

Very pretty. Needs a nice church or summat in the silhouette rather than telecom poles though. Useful for sandwich shots.
Thanks. The poles (electricity as well as phones) are a nuisance. I sometimes clone them out. Better though to go down to the local cove where I can get a clear view out over the water towards the far coastline, although that is better a bit later in the year when the sun has moved round a bit. There is a promontory that gets in the way and unbalances the foreground for sunsets at this time of year.

Not that this was a sunset. There was a thick cloud bank on the horizon and that kills sunsets, which is one reason I didn't bother going down to the cove.

I think this was my choice last time you showed it with others.

Excellent! I particularly like the first one. Composition, clarity and colours - all very appealing to my eye.

ISO100 has reduced DR so in this case you should probably have been better off at 200, given the shadow lifting involved in producing the final vision.

I like the HDR choices made, and the sun flare circle is magical.

I don't know what software was used to derive the HDR, but it produced borders/halos around branches etc. I don't know how this might affect large prints etc. but is visible at full size on screen. Or are these motion artefacts?

Real cavalry action. Good shutter speed choice and panning precision!

Met a good friend in the field, just lost his mum so shooting was pretty awkward with dividing my attention to him and the sun that was setting rapidly...

As an aside the largest tower is 100 m high and at 2.9 km from where I stood.
Hang on a sec. This shot could not have been taken at 20.26, that's 8.26pm. It's pitch dark in the Netherlands at that time on the 14 January.

Maybe your camera was not set on the right time. Nice photo though.

Cheers

as is often the case with birds, the males are more colorful. the tinge of purple is the primary evidence here but I followed this little guy around a bit and he had the telltale coloring on his rear feathers. the females were duller in color, see below.

Pretty enough. I give it another four weeks ;-)
Hey! I did a 365 back in 2014... :P Although this time I have a baby in the house, so we'll see...

Cheers,
Paul
